This year's presidential election failed to inspire, however because of the razor-thin margin of votes that separates the two candidates,George W. Bush and Al Gore, it dominates the radio and television airwaves. 

Even though many feel disenfranchised by the current political system, all feel that election is important and the current vote count discrepancies and irregularities have captured the attention of the American electorate, as well as the world.

Many feel that political action and activism is the keys to confronting the issues that haunt their disenfranchised groups, others see it as a sham ruled by those with the strongest financial backing and the most influence.

Many black politicians have gained positions with symbolic authority, others have sincerely tried to make a difference.
