Ajuma Muhammad currently serves
as the Executive Director of the Association of African- American Role Models (A.A.A.R.M.)
organization in St. Louis, MO. Devoted husband and father of four children. Ajuma is
dedicated and committed to the re- education and re-training of African-American youth. Muhammad studied at several universities: receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and an Associate Degree in Child Development Technology from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He also received a Master of Arts Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Additionally, he has attended several universities doing post-graduate work at Harris-Stowe State College, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Webster University and Saint Louis University. He continues to pursue his doctoral degree. |
Mission
The agency was founded over thirteen years ago with the idea of improving the
quality of life for African-American youth. Over 15, 000 youth have benefited from the
role model and mentoring services offered through the A.A.A.R.M. program. The agency has
been nationally and internationally recognized for its tireless effort in working with
hardcore juvenile offenders. His mission is to empower our youth to be positive and
productive members of society where they may stand as role models in their respected
communities.
Author
Ajuma Muhammad authored the controversial, yet powerful handbook entitled: "Understanding
the Crisis of the Black Male: A Handbook on Raising Black Boys to be Responsible Black
Men." His new book will challenge its readers to examine their attitude toward
todays youth. The author boldly asks his readers, "Are you a part of the
conspiracy to destroy Black males?" This book reveals the "mysteries"
surrounding the Black males behavior, his innermost secrets and explores his desire
for interracial love affairs. This book has the country "buzzing" with
excitement and pondering the critical issue of how to savage our Black males.

Licensed Psychotherapist for the State of Missouri working with adolescents
referred to him by the St. Louis Juvenile Court, Dept. of Mental Health, Division of
Family Services, Human Development Corporation, Urban League of Metro St. Louis and
numerous of agencies that contract his services.

Ajuma has appeared on (B.E.T.) Black Entertainment Television, ABC Channel 2, CBS
Channel 4, NBC Channel 5 and numerous radio programs highlighting critical issues facing
the plight of at-risk youth. Currently, a weekly television talk show host discussing
issues vital to the community and is a popular guest lecturer and campus speaker regarding
the plight of African-American youth. Ajuma has been the recipient of numerous local,
national and distinguish service awards for outstanding leadership with African-American
youth.
