Upon
graduation from law school, Shabazz passed his bar exam immediately and
founded Black Lawyers for Justice (BLFJ), a legal-political
organization where Black Attorneys can pool their talents and resources to
counter the many attacks on the human and civil rights. Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz is also the National Chairman of
the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense (NBPP) Shabazz joined
the New Black Panther Party in 1998, and served as the National Attorney
and National Spokesman before succeeding the late Dr. Khallid Abdul
Muhammad as the leader of the NBPP. As the leader of the NBPP
Shabazz has spread the influence of the party far and wide.
The NBPP has 47 Chapters worldwide, a national newspaper and a
reputation for being very successful in mobilizing young talent.
The NBPP has successfully revived the Black Panther Party of the
1960’s. In 1998, Shabazz was voted “Young Lawyer of the Year” by
the National Bar Association, Most recently, he was a Co-Convener of the Millions More
Movement (The 10th Anniversary of the Million Man March) and
has continued to travel the United States
