When filling out the form, please select a backup choice just in case your first choice is unavailable on the specified date.  Additionally, it is also a good idea to have a backup date as well.

Procedures for arranging a speaking engagement:

The beginning. Phase one.  Send a letter, on the official letterhead of your organization, group, college, university, mosque, church, etc. containing the following information:

PHASE ONE

1.      A formal invitation for the Lecturer to speak.

2.      The location (venue), date and time of the event.

3.      The suggested theme of your program or event.

4.      Basic background information regarding your  organization or group.

5.      The other participants scheduled or anticipated on the program.

After completing phase one, a TEI representative will contact you to work out the details of phase two:

PHASE TWO

6.   The arrival date of the Lecturer. This can be earlier than the day of the event, in case you would like to schedule radio or television interviews, or perhaps utilize the expertise of one of our lecturers for internal organizational team building workshops.  There can be valuable guidance and consultation prior to the main event that can be used to aid your future efforts.

7.   The amount of the honorarium when applicable There are times when our speakers will waive the fee because they are affiliated with a school (in the case of an alma mater) or if the speaker is a member of the requesting organization (fraternities, sororities and civic organizations.)

8.    Details of the agreement.  This would consist of round-trip airfares, lodging and meals when applicable.

9.   The anticipated number and background  of the audience and venue capacity. Lecturers like to know whether the program is aimed at the youth, elderly, grassroots, scholars  etc. in order to appropriately prepare to ensure the success of your event.  Whether or not your event will be indoors or outdoors is an important detail not to be left out.

10.  Agreements regarding audio and video  taping of lecture.  Most of our speakers have no problem with video or audio recording, however, when a speaker speaks, there must be a prior agreement regarding the usage of the image and likeness of the lecturer. This would include agreements of future use of the video and/or audio taped lecture and perhaps a royalty fee.
